2. Course description Do you love animals? Do you have a beloved pet you wish to paint? This course will introduce you to the tools and confidence you need to start you on your way. This course will cover everything from proportion, skeletal structure of animals to how to choose the right paint and brushes. The overall aim is to help you gain skill and confidence through practical work, discussion, demonstrations and one-to-one support.

3. Entry requirements This course is aimed at intermediate artists or those who are coming back to art after a break. The student needs to be able to draw with pencil but experience of painting is not essential.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required For the very first lesson you will need an a3 cartridge paper sketch pad, a number of pencils ranging from HB to 6B (you can buy these in a set from any good art store or online), an eraser and pencil sharpener. Later on you will need to buy brushes, an A3 acrylic pad of paper and a small selection of acrylic paints, apron, pallet, water pot and an old towel or paper towels, as well as printing out a large (A4 or above) photograph to work from. 5.
