The act4tv Curriculum
act4tv has a reputation as being innovative as well as being dedicated to it’s members needs to be able to enhance their acting skill and thereby increase their ability to obtain more work.
Any worthwhile organisation tends to assess their performance, product & general structure over a given time as do we.
Having listened to the needs & general comments of our members we have slightly restructured our modules and introduced a new module that we believe will deliver a better service and allow the individual to grow through development whilst being able to market their skill & provide proven ability to Casting Directors & Directors.
All classes are week days.
Module One – Acting For Audition: ‘Theory, Practice & Performance’
Module Length: 26 weeks
Weekly Session Fee: £20 per week
Our principle aim at act4tv is to equip an artist with the knowledge, experience and confidence required to attend a TV casting and hopefully obtain the role they’re auditioning for. With this in mind, ‘Module One’looks at the core elements involved in acting for TV and acting for audition, including:
- Delivering idents and chatting to camera.
- Acting technique and delivery.
- Cold reading of scripts.
- Learning and understanding a scene in under 15 minutes.
- Breaking down and understanding the subtext of a scene.
- Improvisation & improvisation technique.
All classes are performance driven and have been developed to ensure the actor is fully engaged at all times and are performing as much as possible
All performances are filmed and are displayed on 32 inch wide screen TV’s
All actors are provided with an act4tv 4GB USB stick enabling them to take a copy of the video home to watch as an additional learning tool. This module is designed to run for 26 weeks. However, this may be extended should we feel an actor would benefit from additional units before moving to Module 2.
