Some experience of gym-based exercises, including
free weights, is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and you should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 2.

What's it all about? You will gain a vocationally related qualification (VRQ), at Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework. This Qualification allows access on to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP) at Level 2.

How will I be assessed? Internal assessment comprises a portfolio of evidence and there is also an externally assessed, 105 minute theory paper consisting of fifty multiple choice questions.
