Acute Breathlessness Short

 
In the context of a rapidly changing NHS nurses are increasingly expected to extend their role. Breathlessness is a common and troubling symptom of many conditions.  People present with acute breathlessness in primary care, accident and emergency departments and NHS Walk-In Centres and it is often a nurse who is the first point of contact.
 
One training day with informal lectures and interactive group sessions and practical demonstrations.This short course uses interactive group work, presentations and practical demonstrations to help nurses develop the skills needed to appropriately assess and differentiate between the common causes of acute breathlessness.
 
Those attending the short course will gain basic understanding and practical skills in the following areas:
 

History taking

-  Immediate management
