Addressing Homophobia and Heterosexism
This one day training course is intended for practitioners in social care and education. It aims to explore issues of homophobia and heterosexism on personal, interpersonal, institutional and cultural levels, how these issues impact practice and performance and how they can be challenged. Participants are also encouraged to critically explore their own attitudes around homophobia and heterosexism and to make links to other forms of discrimination including racism, sexism, and ableism. Issues related to accessible language, media/publicity, policy and procedures will be explored.
