About this course
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to the level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Administration.
This course can prepare you for a junior role in an office, but you can also take the skills you have learnt into a variety of industries.
You will require English & Maths GCSE grades 3-1 (D-G) as well as two further GCSEs at grade 2 (F).

Course programme
You will study 5 units covering basic administration skills including:
- Working in administration,
- Creating business documents,
- Making and receiving calls,
- Welcoming visitors,
- Handling diary systems.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop your ICT skills by studying mail merge and text processing, and will also study Personal and Social Development to prepare you for the world of work. Then, to put all your theory into practice, you will undertake a week's work experience.
The core business admin units are assessed through completion of externally set coursework. The mail merge and text processing units are assessed through examinations. You will also produce a portfolio of work for your Certificate in Personal and Social Development.
