The Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy framework is made up of the following components; you must achieve all components to achieve the Advanced Apprenticeship.

Is the Course for Me?
You will have already achieved an NVQ 2 in Beauty Therapy or Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy and will want to combine developing your skills and knowledge at level 3 with working within a relevant beauty therapy role. This course will enhance your technical skills in beauty therapies, customer service and health and safety. You will need to be able to stand for long periods of time while completing treatments. You need to be employed by an employer who is willing to support you in undertaking the Advanced Apprenticeship programme. You will need to be prepared to work hard both within the workplace and at College so that you get the best out of the opportunities to learn.
What are the Entry Requirements?
Employment in a beauty therapy role.
NVQ 2 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent.
What will I Learn?
The Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy is made up of the following components; you must achieve all components to receive an Advanced Apprenticeship Award.
NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy (Massage)

How will I Learn?
You will normally attend College one day per week to develop your practical skills and to learn the underpinning knowledge required for your framework components. Your practical skills will also be developed in the workplace with the support of your employer.
How will I be Assessed?
Your NVQ will primarily be assessed by observation, oral questioning, written tests and assignments. As well as completing assessments at College, your assessor from will visit you in the workplace on a regular basis to carry out assessments for your NVQ award. Key skills are assessed by a portfolio of evidence plus an externally assessed test.
It is brought to your attention that although North Lindsey College will endeavour to obtain clients throughout the course, it is the learners' own responsibility to ensure they have enough models to obtain their qualification.
Your progress on the programme will be reviewed a minimum of every 10 - 12 weeks. This is normally done in your workplace. Targets will be set that reflect your individual needs.

What can I Progress to?
On completion of an Advanced Apprenticeship your career prospects will have significantly improved and you can progress to supervisory or management positions in the industry. You might also choose to progress to further study with a HND or Foundation Degree.
