Advanced Apprenticeship in Children & Young Peoples Workforce (Social Care Pathway)

Subjects Covered What does the Apprenticeship cover? Learners will choose a pathway which relates to their workplace. There are two pathways; Early years or Social care. The programme includes the following four components: 1. Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (Level 3): Mandatory Units • Understand child & young person development • Promote child/young person development • Understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children & young people • Support children & young people’s health and safety • Develop positive relationships with children, young people and other involved in their care • Working together for the benefit of children and young people • Understand how to support positive outcomes for children & young people • Promote communication in children’s & young people settings • Engage in personal development in children’s & young people settings • Promote equality and inclusion in children’s & young people settings • Principles for implementing duty of care in children’s & young people’s settings Further optional units will need to be completed to achieve this qualification. 2.
