Course Overview
This Apprenticeship if ideal for you if you would like to learn how to prepare, cook and present to a high standard, a range of food items, including meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, cakes, desserts, soups and sauces.
Topics covered will include:
- Developing productive working relationships with colleagues
- Maintaining food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food
- Producing healthier dishes
- Preparing, cooking and finishing a variety of pastries and desserts
- Cooking and finishing a complex range of food dishes
- Developing a team
- Hygiene and safety
The learning experience will be individual and fun, with on the job training and options of workshops either in College or with your trainer. You will also be able to make use of facilities both at your workplace and in the College, including our excellent library and learning resource centre.
Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.
It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE.
