Course Description:
For Apprentices or adults wishing to progress further in the Mechanical Production industry. It is necessary for the off the job training for the programme to be supported in company to enable the trainee to develop the required skills.

Description Breakdown:
This course underpins the Advanced Apprenticeship programme at Level 3 but can also be a stand alone programme for mature trainees. 8 Units must be completed for the full award, they are Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety, Organisational Efficiency and Improvement
Computer Aided Design. CNC Programming/ Machining Mechanical Engineering Principles,Advanced Manufacture Techniques, Advanced Turning,Advanced Milling.The first 2 units are core with the remainder being skills specific.There is one multi-choice external exam covering the 2 core units & then on programme assessment, in either multi-choice format or short answer questions. Practical elements specific are tested through â€-skills tests†in the college workshops.
