Advanced Certificate in Professional Canine Hydrotherapy-Level Three OCN
This
course is split into Three Modules, Vet Nurses, Physiotherapists or
similar who are able to complete and pass the anatomy and physiology
assessment need not sit the first module. Students must have practical
experience in handling other dogs than their own over a least two years.
This
is not a beginners course. Module One: consists of canine form and
function, anatomy and physiology, common orthopeadic and neurological
conditions, wound healing, response to limb disuse. One compulsory written
assessment and on going practical assessment. Module Two: Consists
of aims and benefits of hydrotherapy,
working with Veterinary Surgeons
and the referral process, principles of hydrotherapy, assessing and
measuring outcomes, methods of handling dogs, water walker, spa and pool
work with some practical experience, one day massage techniques &
professionalism in hydrotherapy. One written assessment and ongoing
practical assessment. Module Three: is a practical session over
four days plus one day canine motivation, learning theory and behaviour.
Assessments include one compulsory essay, one multiple choice
questionnaire and one practical.Course Code: CH1& CH2 Duration: Each
module is 5 days, this runs throughout the years with two student intakes.
