About this course
This award is available for all practitioners in the field of social work or social care and will form part of their employer’s commitment to CPD alongside their own registration requirements with professional regulators. There is a standard benchmark of a first degree at 2.2 or above in a relevant subject, but non-standard entrants with suitable experience in social care and evidence of recent study will be considered. The programme consists of 3 modules:
SW4725 Responding to Contemporary Issues in Community Justice (20 Credits)
Plus two modules from the following:
- SW4716 Social Perspectives on Personality Disorder (20 Credits)
- SW4718 Youth Justice: Theory, Policy and Practice (20 Credits)
- SW4719 Assessment, Management and Treatment of Sexual Offending (20 Credits)
- SW4720 Violence against Women: Practice and Prevention across different communities (20 Credits)
- SW4722 Substance Misuse: Social Impact and Practitioner Responses (20 Credits)
Each module encourages candidates to consider existing best practice; developing new skills and advanced knowledge in the area of community justice. The course will develop research skills and research-mindedness; it will evaluate the contribution of research to inform practice and enhance service delivery.
