ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION AWARD (TROWEL OCCUPATIONS)
Entry Requirements
Completion of the ICA Trowel Occupations.
Description
This
course is one year in duration or until successful completion of all units
in a competent manner.
The course is aimed at those wishing to progress
on from Level 2 with a desire to operate with a more in-depth knowledge of
brickwork and the construction industry.
Course Content
Assist
in establishing the operational area
Assist with progressing operations
Assist
with organising resources
Co-ordinate self and others to erect complex
brick and block work
Co-ordinate self and others to produce complex
walling details
Co-ordinate and produce complex construction aids
Key
Skills:
WBL candidates will be expected to achieve key skills (Literacy
and Numeracy) to a higher level than they already possess. This is
dependant on their sponsor.
The day may be extended to 7pm for
sponsored students.
Where a course is aimed towards an
assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment
in practical, knowledge tests in theory. Successful assessment will result
in a credit being awarded. The certificate is awarded after successful
completion of all units and relevant site assessment. Each unit must be
complete before progressing onto the next unit and the site based evidence
required in all units.
Note: The external Health and Safety multi
choice and external knowledge tests are taken during the day.
