What will I study?
The Construction & the Built Environment Diploma is an innovative new employer-endorsed qualification that introduces young people to the nature of the built environment and its impact on both individuals and communities.
How can I progress?
On successful completion of this qualification you can progress into Higher Education or Employment. The qualification is recognised by employers & Universities. There are opportunities to study Architecture, Quantity surveying, Land Surveying, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying at Degree level or you can seek employment.
What will I need to qualify for this course?

Course Structure
Whilst studying towards this qualification the following areas of study will be covered; Principal Learning: this is the work related part of the Diploma that focuses on the construction industry, including subjects such as Design, Construction Methods, Valuation & Use of Properties, Job Roles & The impact of the Built Environment on society, Land surveying & Building surveying. Project: The Project is an opportunity to investigate a construction site & research how it works from the planning stage through to completion (with numerous opportunities to visit construction sites to gather information). Functional Skills: As employers need good literacy, Numeracy & I.T. skills the Diploma allows you to produce hard evidence that you have those skills. Work Experience: This allows you to develop your employability skills covering everything from applying for a job, interview techniques, personal presentation & effectiveness at work. You will take part in a minimum of 10 days work experience. Nationally recognised Qualification: You will also take at least one extra qualification with a value equivalent to 1 A Level i.e. Mathematics or Art.
