The Advanced Diploma in Creative and Media is one of the new and
exciting courses that are changing the face of secondary and further
education.

This course will enable you to develop a broad understanding of the creative industries. The course develops your skills in a variety of techniques and processes within music and related disciplines.

The topics you will have the opportunity to study include:

· The music business
· Performing (and rehearsing)
· Using music software
· Creating new music (song and lyric writing)
· Live music production (including live sound engineering â€" stage craft â€" lighting â€" video filming).

The course will develop your personal learning, thinking skills and ability to work as part of a team. In addition to this the course will also develop your analytical, creative, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

During the course you will have the opportunity to achieve additional
qualifications called Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continuously during the course through a range of assignments, investigations and practical assessments. You will
undertake work experience and complete a work-related project.

On successful completion you may:

Progress to a degree level course such as the FdA in Music Production that we offer in partnership with Bath Spa University. This is a popular course for many of our students.

Or

Choose from a wide range of career paths in the music industry, such as a Sound Engineer or Producer, Front of House Engineer, Mix Engineer or Sound Designer.

Or

Enter the creative and media workplace.

This course is equivalent to 3.5 A Levels and allows entry to study
degree level courses.
