A learner who wishes to undertake a Level 3 Advanced Diploma programme require a minimum 5 GCSE A* to C including Maths, English and a Science subject or a suitable alternative Level 2 qualification at merit or above.

There are three parts to the Advanced Diploma in Engineering

- Generic Learning
- Additional/Specialist Learning
Principal Learning ' 9 Units:
- Engineering Business and Environment
- Application of Computer Aided Design
- Selection of Engineering Materials
- Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- Maintaining Engineering Systems and Products
- Investigating Modern Manufacturing Techniques
- Design and Enterprise
- Mathematical Techniques
- Principles and Application of Engineering Science
Generic Learning - this Element of the Diploma includes:
10 days work related learning
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Learners are expected to develop their skills throughout the programme of study. An extended project which can be linked to the Principal Learning theme. Learners will also study Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.
Additional/Specialist Learning
You will have to undertake additional subjects that compliment and add value to the Diploma in Engineering. This could be an 'A' Level subject. Alternatively it might be a technically related subject.
How will I Learn?
The course is a mixture of theoretical and practical activities.
How will I be Assessed?
A combination of assignments, course work and exams.
What Enrichments are Available?
Learners will have access to various activities within the college to develop and broaden their experience of college life.
