Course Description:
The level 3 is for Pharmacy Technicians working in hospital or community pharmacies. Learners will be involved in dispensing medicines, controlling stock and may also give advice on symptoms, over counter medicines and responding to customers needs.

Description Breakdown:
Learners need to take eight units to successfully complete the NVQ level 3,
four of which are mandatory:
•Dispensing medicines and products
•Controlling stock of pharmaceutical materials and equipment
•Providing pharmaceutical information and advice
•Ensuring that your own actions reduce the risks to health and safety.
They can then choose four further units that provide the opportunity to work in different situations, and develop their skills and knowledge, including:
•Helping with the supply of prescribed items
•Assisting with the assembly of prescribed items
•Preparing to make pharmaceutical products
•Ordering, receiving and storing stock
The technical certificate in Pharmacy Services covers all the key areas of pharmacy practice and scientific method, and establishes professional conduct and knowledge.
