Introduction
The ECDL Advanced qualification is designed to enable individuals to progress from the internationally successful ECDL to the next level of competence. ECDL Advanced is modular and a certificate is awarded for successfully passing a test in each module.
Course Content
The four modules available in ECDL Advanced are:
Module Overview of content
Word Processing
MS Word
Using section breaks, autotext functions, creating macros, using forms with drop-down fields and check boxes.
Spreadsheets
MS Excel
Use of complex formulas, subtotals, advanced filters, charts, linked worksheets, pivot tables.
Database
MS Access
Table design, relationships, queries, linking forms for multiple usage, reports, using macros.
Presentation
MS Powerpoint
Using multimedia functions, transitions and animation effects. Creating charts, macros and hyperlinks.
An additional certificate, the ECDL Expert Certificate is available upon successful completion of all four modules.
Entry Requirements
You should have ECDL, Microsoft Core Level or be using the required application to a high level in the workplace.
Duration
2 hours a week for 17 weeks.
Assessment
Assessment will take the form of a paper based test with a duration of 60 minutes. This will be externally marked by the British Computer Society.
