If you are interested in entering the busy world of travel and tourism, this one-year programme is for you. It is designed to enable you to develop your skills for a career in this fast-moving environment. Course Content: During the programme, you will develop your knowledge in: Investigating the travel and tourism sector The business of travel and tourism The UK as a destination Customer service European destinations Working as a holiday representative Events, conferences and exhibitions Visitor attractions Work placement Hospitality in travel and tourism Residential study visits How will I be assessed? Assessment will be carried out using a variety of methods including role play, presentations, activities, assignments and controlled assessments. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? All learners are required to wear the standard uniform which you will be able to order during enrolment. The cost for the whole uniform is £135.00 which includes a jacket, skirt for ladies and trousers for men, a shirt and either a tie or scarf. You may be able to secure financial support towards the cost of the uniform. There will also be a nominal charge for trips and visits. What can I do after this course? You can go into specialist areas of employment including airlines, tourism centres, theme parks, travel companies and airports. Roles could also include working in a travel agency, with a tourist board, as a holiday representative or as an entertainer at a theme park. Alternatively you can take your qualifications to the next level with higher education courses such as Foundation Degrees, HNDs or other professional development programmes.
