This Apprentice will learn how to operate in a working forensic laboratory and become part of the digital forensics team, as well as gaining their academic qualifications. Suitable for: School/college leavers with a specific interest in science (specifically technology and forensic science), who have not yet decided whether they wish to enter full time employment or further education.

Applicants will require GCSE's in English, Maths and Science to at least a grade C. They should not be in full time employment.

Course review:

The advanced Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship is an 18 month scheme, consisting of full time employment within the scientific arena and one day per week academic training. The framework consists of a BTEC in Applied Science, and NVQs in Laboratory Techniques, Employees Rights and Responsibilites, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills all at Level 3, and a Level 2 qualification in ICT.
