Course Content

If you are a first aid trainer you need to add this qualification to your portfolio.

What will I learn?

In the morning we will review the student course including:

• Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Circulatory System
• Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Respiratory System
• Basic Life Support
• The Chain of Survival and Benefits of Early Defibrillation
• Resuscitation Council Guidelines on the use of an AED
• Introduction to an AED and General Safety Precautions
• Demonstration

In the afternoon you will learn:

• The different features and benefits of each defibrillator
• Practice on each of the defibrillators
• Workshop on defibrillator sales techniques and pricing structure

You get the opportunity to practice on all of the following defibrillators.

• Zoll AED Plus

We also provide you with an Instructor Manual with full course lesson plans and CD Rom Powerpoint Presentation which you can use to teach your courses.

To successfully be awarded with an AED Instructor Certificate you must pass a Written and Practical Assessment.

Basic Life Support skills are not taught on the course as such there is an expectation that these skills can be performed to demonstration quality. No certification will be issued to individuals who are unable to perform the necessary skills.

Certificates issued are valid for 3 years.
