2. Course description This course is for young people who are considering a career in agriculture/horticulture, and are concerned with conservation and the environment. This programme is designed to enable students to acquire the basic skills with the necessary technical grounding for them to provide a useful contribution in their employment within the industry. In order to reflect this aim the programme content includes: - Arable crop production - Livestock production - Business management - Estate skills - Land based machinery - Work experience

Course programme

3. Entry requirements 4 GCSEs at grade D or above (with at least one grade C from either science, English or maths). Progression is encouraged from Level 1 qualifications. For some students an agreement will be reached to comply with an academic contract from the start of the course. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method This course is continually assessed by a combination of written tests, project and assignment work and demonstration of competence in a range of practical skills.
