To have attendees understand and be confident with a sewing machine as well as basic sewing terminology. Suitable for: Adults as well as mature young adult that would like to learn about sewing from the ground up. This is a 3.5 hour course but it covers alot of ground and complements the class with a 16 page guide that is an excellent resource for those learning to sew.

Did you get a new sewing machine for christmas but have yet to get it out of the box? has it been a while since you sewed and you need a refresher course on what goes where? or do you just want to start sewing and need someone to help move you past the red l plate stage? this course is an excellent place to start and comes highly recommended as a good way to gain confidence with no pressure :

- learn all the major functions of one of our sewing machines or you can bring your own!

- what makes a good "starter" kit for sewing equipment, as well as what each item does!

- introduction to fabrics, marking, pinning and cutting (fabric, not fingers!).

- students will create a cushion to take home with them.
