Founder
Following several years working in high end fashion glossy magazines, Arianna then spent time using her skills in the costume department of some well known films including Bridget Jones Diary 2 and Harry Potter. Having also completed a BA degree in Historical Costume Construction, Arianna now spends much of her time creating bespoke wedding dresses and headwear. She has an undeniable passion and love for costume, fashion and her craft.
Course programme
Course overview:
Breathe new life into your wardrobe and put the fashion back into your frock with our make do and mend alterations class.
The morning session will equip you with the knowledge and confidence required to have you sewing confidently on your own. We break breifly for lunch then carry on into an afternoon of teaching you a range of alterations skills. These include unpicking, patching, putting in a zip, taking in dresses and skirts, hemming techniques including hemming jeans with the original hem, altering vintage purchasers and shortening/lengthening straps.
You'll need to bring along one or more articles of clothing you'd like to alter and we'll work through them together.
All machines, materials and equipment provided, although if you would like to bring your own sewing machine, you are welcome to. Lunch is also included.
