An Introduction to Welding Safety

Overview

The aim of this short module is to raise understanding and awareness of the safety issues associated with welding. Upon completion learners will be aware of a range of key issues, including: the four main types of welding;

• the four main types of welding;
• appropriate protective equipment;
• safety tips relating to the work area, equipment, fumes & ventilation and confined spaces;
• First Aid.

 
Structure

The module is structured into a number of learning activities which are supported by graphics, animations and a challenge.
 
Target audience

This module is designed to be a pre-requisite for anyone starting a course on welding. By completing this short module and passing the associated online assessment, prospective students have shown they are aware of the key safety issues relating to a potentially dangerous activity.
 
Online assessment

Online assessment can be provided through the use of the Virtual College''s TMS, which offers a complete online assessment linked to an individual''s training record.
 
Certification

On successful completion of this course you can print your own certificate.
