Our Analytical Chemistry Group has research interests and expertise spanning criminal forensic science, environmental sampling, archaeology, geology, pathology and drug analysis.

We can offer you the opportunity to undertake analysis-based research in a wide variety of fields and are always very happy to consider thesis proposals.

Recent thesis projects have focused on analysis of materials such as ground water and soil; human hair, animal hair and feathers; archaeological artefacts; drugs and other toxins; glass.

Whatever your topic of interest, we can offer you friendly, expert supervision, excellent scientific facilities and regular invitations to take part in research conferences and seminars.

Your research programme will include comprehensive research training, as well as professional and personal development relevant to your career.
