ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, physiology & pathology and Body massage
The course is the foundation for all massage therapy work and is the preparation for further ITEC courses. The qualification comprises the study of anatomy, physiology & pathology, body massage and setting up in business. These 3 aspects are integrated into a course designed to give thorough background knowledge as well as the confidence to begin professional therapy work.
Students will study:
- All body systems and their disorders
- Contraindications and benefits of massage
- Other complementary therapies
- Professional ethics and the Law
- Hygiene, first aid and safety
- Practice management
Practical sessions:
- Swedish massage techniques
- A full body massage
- Further off-syllabus techniques
Examination:
- Anatomy & physiology (50 multiple choice questions each)
- Practical examination (45 minutes)
- Six case studies - 2 treatments each
Assignments for Complementary Therapies include:
- Less common pathology f
- Principles & Practice
- Business Practice
- Health, Safety & Hygiene
- Practical Assignment - 18 massage treatments
Cost:
£720 + examination fee (£200 deposit)
