This intensive course in Anatomy, Physiology and Swedish Massage offers the student the opportunity to gain recognition following fast track training. The anatomy and physiology course is in line with UK and International standards. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded with the professionally recognised Practitioners Diploma with 40 CPD points CMA accredited. Suitable for: Beginners of all ages, ( minimum age 18) who wish to be able to offer Swedish Massage as a professional therapy to the fee paying public. This is the essential entry requirement for those wishing to pursue a career in Holistic Therapies.

Introduction

Swedish Massage

This intensive course in Swedish Massage offers the student the opportunity to gain recognition following fast track training. To be able to offer Swedish Massage as a professional therapy to the fee paying public. The practical massage course may be taken before, after or alongside the anatomy and physiology theory .The Swedish Massage practical training  is taken over  one weekend. Time must be allowed  for home study, home practice and case studies. A practical assessment, plus multiple choice questionnaire will complete the course on the final day.

This course is fully accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and carries 40 CPD points. Once qualified, the participant is able to gain membership to the CMA and obtain public liability insurance in order to practice as a proferssional.

This is a four day training course  

Aims and Objectives This training course aims to provide the participants with a good standard of professional training, in a safe, secure environment. The objective is for the participants to gain knowledge and expertise, through demonstration and practice, questions and answers and continuous assessment, thus enabling the participants to gain a recognisable qualification in Swedish Massage

  • Health and Safety – what to do in an emergency, precautions, risk assessments, emergency aid.
  • Introduction - history & philosophy of Swedish Massage
  • Massage -  the facts, including benefits & contra-indications
  • Massage Oils – the facts, including benefits & contra-indications.
  • Massage movements and techniques
  • An introduction to Chi. Exercises to promote Chi, breathing, techniques, posture.
  • Demonsration & practice
  • Home study
  • Theory into practise-full routine
  • Assessment

Additional information

Payment options: Please telephone to enquire about flexible payments. You can attend more than one course and have a “running invoice”, paying in instalments to suit yourself. The criteria being that each course must be paid in full on or before the commencement of the course. When a place has been confirmed, the booking fee is non-refundable. Fees will only be refunded if the course is full or cancelled.
