Ancient History
What will I learn?
This encompasses aspects of the classical world from Ancient Greece to the fall of the Roman Empire and involves all aspects of classical civilisation, including social factors (women, slavery and religion) artistic and literary factors (literature, sculpture and architecture) intellectual developments (philosophy and education) and economic aspects of the societies. You will discover how ancient civilisations influenced the western world and still do today.
What qualifications do I need?
We would normally require candidates to have the standard sixth form entry requirements, including GCSE English at grade C or above and History at grade B or above.
Career opportunities:
The ability to handle and assess documents can lead to environmental work, town planning, building restoration, and tourism or research. Analysis and communication are vital in a wide range of fields, including in law, journalism, accountancy, police, the media and many others.
