For a 3 AS Level programme you will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at A*-C (two of which should be at grade B or higher) including English and Maths or equivalent
For a 4 AS Level programme you will need a minimum of 6 GCSEs at A*-C (two of which should be at grade B or higher) including English and Maths or equivalent.
To progress to A2 Level a minimum of grade D at AS Level is required.

Unit 1: The English Legal System - covering the courts, the penal system, provision of legal services and examining the role of judges, solicitors, barristers, magistrates and juries.
Unit 2: Sources of Law - An examination of the different sources of Law and how the law is applied by judges.
A2 Level
In A2 level Law you will cover the general principles of one area of Law. This will be either Criminal Law, Contract Law or Torts.
Criminal Law includes: Property offences such as Theft, and Fatal Offences such as Murder.
Contract Law includes: Elements that make up a contract, and terms/conditions used in contracts.
The Law of Torts includes: Issues between individuals such as Trespass and Defamation.
The module studied is chosen at the end of the AS course by student vote. Each module contains an exam on one specific subtopic in January, and a general exam in June.
Methods of Study
You will be encouraged to take part in discussions and presentations. Time will be set-aside in lessons for discussing topical legal issues and for tutorial sessions where you can seek assistance individually or as a group.
Assessment Two written papers for both AS and A2 Level. Progression AS to A2 Level, A2 Level to Higher Education, ILEX Course, Employment.
