Introduction to course
Are you interested in Third World poverty, the environment, or have you wondered why we have unemployment? Should we join the single currency? Do you want a career in third world development, the UN, management, accounting or the city? Perhaps you want to study History or Geography at university, or Finance or Business Studies? There is only one subject central to all of these, Economics.

Course Details
Economics is not a mathematical subject and there is no coursework. However if you wish to take Economics at degree level, Maths A Level is strongly advisable. Topics covered in the first year include the British economy, dealing with inflation, unemployment and environmental problems. The second year covers road pricing, trains and the environment, Europe, third world poverty, debt and the G8 and global warming.

Where the course lead
Top accountancy, banking, City and management firms welcome economists because they understand the economic environment. A Level Economics is an excellent preparation for Business Studies, Accountancy, Geography, History, Politics or Business Law. Most of our students go on to an Economics related degree course because they enjoy Economics at Sir George Monoux College.

Course Assessment
No coursework. Only AS exams in January and June then A2 exams.
