Suitable for: All workers working with children and young people, especially: teachers,social workers, support staff, youth offending officers, children home staff, youth workers and learning support mentors.

Course programme

The structured 6 session programme assists students in learning how to reduce the emotional and physiological arousal that anger creates, by teaching skills such as problem solving, stress management, assertiveness, anger control and understanding the impact of the cognitive process upon behaviour.

Health implications related to anger and the influence of diet upon anger is also explored.

The facilitator training is suitable for anyone working with the child and adolescent population. The Anger Management Programme is suitable for all age groups, as the activities are differentiated, offering diverse learning programmes. Activities throughout the programme are offered in variety of delivery formats- Powerpoints, flip chart, written work, group work, discussion and debate. The programme is also suitable for one to one delivery. All materials are preented in a dyslxic friendly manner, as outlined within BDA (British Dyslexia Association) guidance. Literacy support is encouraged through out facilitation. THis facilitation training will also provide an overview of effective techniques and strategies which may help students to overcome learning barrier.
