Animal Assisted Therapy - a distance learning course by BSYWith a basis in clinical observation and data, researchers have proposed that continued interaction with a companion animal could have valuable long-term psychological and physical effects.The aim of animal assisted therapy (AAT) is to invigorate, support and assist individuals to live productive and gratifying lives. This course explores the benefits of AAT, the manners in which animals can provide social support, and the deep relationship between animals and humans.You will gain an understanding of the way in which an animal is selected and trained, and the way in which a client is evaluated for suitability for AAT work. You will also learn how to plan and implement programmes and how to use solution-focused therapy in order to benefit a wide range of people.
