In order to support the highest levels of animal welfare, it is vital to have a good understanding of the way in which animal’s bodies work, what supports good physical and mental health, and how to manage animals effectively in order to meet their needs. This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in animal health, welfare, or allied industries. Year one modules provide a foundation in anatomy, animal health, science, welfare and nutrition. Second year modules consolidate knowledge and understanding in animal health, habitat and management, and allow further study of either animal behaviour or reproduction, with the opportunity to complete a work-based project.
