2. Course description This course is designed with adult learners in mind to prepare them for a degree level programme in the animal field. The course will assume no prior knowledge or experience in the animal industry as many adult learners are changing careers. The course will help to develop a range of academic and study skills for those returning to education. The course will develop a range of practical employability skills as well as academic skills should the learners choose to progress to employment rather than higher education.

3. Entry requirements This course is open to suitable candidates who demonstrate sufficient interest and commitment. There are no formal entry requirements, but candidates should have English and preferably Maths GCSE (grades A*-C) or equivalent. You will be invited to discuss your suitability and needs at interview and may be asked to undertake an initial assessment. Additionally, students whose first language is not English require an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.We recommend that candidates who do not currently have English and Maths GCSE (grades A* - C) should consider the Preparing for Advanced Study Scheme (PASS) programme or consider studying GCSEs part-time at the College. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method A variety of assessment methods will be used that mirror those used in our degree programmes including essays, reports, portfolios, research projects, presentations, academic posters, seminars, online tests, formal examinations and time constrained essays. These allow for a range of learning styles and are also all used at Higher Education level so will allow learners to develop their skills to prepare for degree level study.
