In order to meet the needs of animals and support the highest levels of animal welfare it is vital to effectively manage their care. This three-year, modular-based course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in animal management, welfare, or allied industries. Year one modules provide a foundation in anatomy, animal management, welfare and science. Second year modules consolidate knowledge and understanding in animal health, development and breeding, and allow further study of animal behaviour and management. Students also develop the specialist skills required for their final year dissertation. Year three further develops animal welfare, behaviour and ethics understanding, and all students complete a dissertation.
