This course takes advantage of small class sizes to offer excellent practical opportunities with a variety of species in our new animal centre. The course can provide you with the skills that you need to enter competitive areas such as zoo keeping or to specialise further on a related top-up degree. This is the second year of a higher education university level course, equivalent to the second year of a degree, that will extend your knowledge and opportunities.

How will I study?
This challenging course aims to produce students who will quickly aspire to managerial positions within the animal management industry. Modules studied include animal collections, human-animal interactions, natural history of exotic animals, nutrition and behaviour.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught both in a classroom setting and in the animal centre. You will also be expected to undertake self-directed research. Learners will complete fieldwork and enjoy participating in a number of trips and visits.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is all coursework, e.g. reports, presentations, practical assessments, research projects.
