Areas of study: In the first year you will explore key underpinning subjects such as anatomy and physiology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, behaviour and ecology so that you can apply the scientific principles in your second and third year modules. These include subjects such as microbiology, population genetics, neuroscience, applied animal health, welfare, ethics, current and topical practices and issues. You will be encouraged to think independently and critically review published work, carry out research at the bench, in the field and academically. The course has strong links with the University of Brighton and some second and third year modules have been integrated into the programme to give a broader choice of subjects, so that you can tailor the course to your particular interests.
