This course is a basic introduction for anyone intending to make a career in the Animal Care industries. Successful candidates may progress to employment or to the Level 2 Diploma Animal Care. Employment opportunities include animal care assistants in pet shops, boarding and rescue kennels and catteries.

  • Considerable practical experience with dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, reptiles and amphibians, birds and fish
  • Assessment is mainly carried out while undertaking practical tasks with some oral questioning
