Course programme
Animation and illustration are dynamic disciples at the forefront of the UK's creative industries. This course is for you, if you want to build and refine an effective portfolio to apply for further study in animation and illustration. You will receive guidance in putting together roughs, ideas and visual analysis and experimentations. You will cover ways that communicate your work that are not solely focused finished pieces, by presenting your visual thoughts, research, analysis and evidence of your interests.
Based in LCC’s considerable expertise it will focus on building understanding of current practice and theory, and how you can apply these to your work. You will be taught through exercises, lectures, workshops, demonstrations and individual guidance. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a visit to give you a context for contemporary animation and illustration practices.
This course is suitable for you, if you are applying for further study at LCC, but does not guarantee entry.

Course Outcomes
By the end of this course you should have:
- Prepared work for inclusion in a portfolio for application for further study
- Have put together a short written statement for each of the works included in your portfolio
- Put together a collection of ideas, notes and sketches to be included in a notebook / sketchbook to include in your portfolio
Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for you if you are considering applying for further study in animation or illustration.
Materials
Please bring with you a small body of existing work. You should bring with you a notebook, scissors, pencils and pens.
