Who the Course is For:
This course is suitable for school leavers and mature students who want to work in the field of Interactive Media including website design, electronic graphics, games design, and computer animation. You are likely to have an interest in learning how to use creative computer software.
Assessment:
All of the assessment is through college set assignments.

The BTEC National Diploma at Barking College has a strong history of progressing its students onto Higher Education at either Degree or HND level in a wide range of interactive media linked courses.
Most of the employment opportunities listed below recruit from HE level courses.

Content:
You will study 5 core units which are common with all BTEC art and design based courses. These provide an opportunity to learn in the areas of visual communications, conceptualising, historical and contextual understanding as well as the learning of practical skills using a wide range of technical resources. Students will be taught using industry standard software including Adobe's Flash, Director, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and 3D packages including Bryce and Maya. You will have opportunities to make videos and to explore the basics of traditional animation for example stop motion and hand drawn animations.
