The Programme:

Both domestic (farm) and companion (pet) animals are studied. Assessment is based on assignments, seminars, practicals, presentations, case studies and examinations. There is also a dissertation in the final year.

Small group sizes allow extensive hands-on experience with cows, pigs, sheep and horses and the opportunity to study dogs, cats, rodents, rabbits, cavies and exotic species.

People who take this course could go on to:
Opportunities exist within the areas of consultancy, lecturing, sales of feed and other associated products, including work within the pharmaceutical industry. Positions are also available to graduates in journalism, marketing and animal centre management.

Entry Requirements:
140 points at Advanced level (80 at A2) or equivalent OR National Diploma at MPP OR 2 National Awards at Merit OR NVQ Level 3 in a related subject with a satisfactory reference OR "Life Experience" will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students OR Holders of Higher National Diploma in relevant subject will be considered for direct entry into the second year of the programme. Holders of a Foundation Degree in a relevant subject will be considered for direct entry into the third year, after successful completion of a short briding programme. An admission assignment may be used in certain circumstances.
