Andrea Mountford
Colour Psychologist and Designer
Andrea has a background in corporate management and has run her own business since 1993. Since beginning her investigation into colour and human psychological functioning some 15 years ago, she has gained a BSc (Hons) in Interior Architectural Design, additional qualifications in Interior Design, Applied Colour Psychology and Adult Education. Andrea has appeared regularly on BBC radio and is often asked to contribute to articles on the subject of colour.
Raymond McKimm
Psychologist and Colour Consultant
Raymond has a background in Psychology and community development, working with a range of different clients in a range of therapeutic settings. He also has a background in clinical research and in the interrelationship between environmental factors and health. He has worked for the World health organisation, developing mechanisms which measure the impact of the built environment on our health and well being. Raymond has a keen interest in the human psychophysical response to colour, and more recently, has developed a therapeutic service which uses colour as a therapeutic medium.
Course programme
The focus of this course is to provide participants with the necessary understanding and skills to be able to apply the principles of colour psychology to all forms of business communication - corporate logos, sales and marketing material, web sites and so on. Participants will be instructed in the use of colour to support and reinforce an organisation's language based messages. In addition, they will be shown how to harmonise all of the other design elements so that they too become supportive of any message to be communicated.
