About the Course
The course is made up of six units; two core units and a further four specialist units. It is equivalent to one full A Level and is studied over two years. The two core units are:
* Fundamentals of Science
* Scientific Practical Techniques
The four specialist units will be chosen from:
* Medical Physics Techniques
* Perceptions of Science
* Criminal Psychology
* Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis
* Criminology
* Chemical Laboratory Techniques
* Using Science in the Workplace
* Genetics and Genetic Engineering
Course Aims
This is a practical course which aims to allow you to study science beyond GCSE without having to specialise in one specific area (Biology, Chemistry or Physics). All of the units are internally assessed and graded. They are then moderated and an overall grade is awarded.
Fees
No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
What next?
This course would support an application to Higher Education to study Forensics or it might lead to employment in a scientific laboratory related area.
