Where an employer's assessment for First Aid needs identifies that a
First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement for an employer is
to appoint an individual to take charge of First Aid arrangements.
This includes looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the
Emergency Services when required.
Arrangements should always be made for this Appointed Person to
undertake these duties at all times when people are at work.
The Appointed Persons role is now an Administrative Role and
therefore the individual will not be able to administer (under any circumstances) First Aid.
Duration:
A 2 hour course consisting of practical and theory work.
Syllabus:
- A wide range of subjects is covered including:
- Legalities, Responsibilities and Reporting
- First Aid Kits
- Calling the Emergency Services
In addition to the above mentioned, an additional 1 hour is available to
cover any specialist requirements which are appropriate to your
organisation i.e. specific company form completion & data protection of information.
Certification:
Although there is no formal assessment, the instructor will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course
This qualification is valid for 3 years.

and each delegate must be aged 16 years and above.
