Course programme
You should be a proactive, fast learner, have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, have problem solving skills, have good attention to detail, be open to change, have an accurate and methodical approach to your job.
This qualification recognises the application of a range of IT skills and knowledge in the workplace, meeting employer workforce demands. The flexibility of this qualification will allow you to adapt your skills for a specific job.
The apprenticeship will include:
- Certificate or Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles level 3,
- Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals level 3,
- English, maths and ICT level 2,
- employee rights and responsibilities,
- personal learning and thinking skills,
Module examples will include:
- data modelling
- event driven programming
- software installation and upgrade
- technical fault diagnosis
- maintaining equipmentand IT systems
- working with ICT hardware and software
Entry Requirements
- You must have an employer to support you through your Apprenticeship and give you time off work to attend college. Many people find their own job or are already employed but if not, college staff can help you find employment. If you want to progress to university you will need GCSE maths grade C.
- an appropriate level 2 apprenticeship, or
- a minimum of five GCSEs grade A*-C, including English language and maths, and ICT grade B or above, and
- you should demonstrate an interest or knowledge of working in the vocational area and wish to take up a career in the relevant industry.
