About this course

No formal qualifications are necessary but an interest in carpentry and joinery is essential and applicants must progress through our selection procedure which consists of an initial assessment and interview.

CSkills Level 2 Diploma in either Site Carpentry/Bench Joinery NVQ Level 2 in either Site Carpentry/Bench Joinery.

What will I study on the course?

You will study exciting units including:

Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

Health, Safety and welfare in construction and associated industries

Understanding information, quantities and communication with others

Knowledge of construction technology

Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools

Set up and operate cutting and shaping machinery

Produce setting out details for routine joinery products

Manufacture routine joinery products

Functional skills Level 1 (maths and English)
