Aromatherapy has its roots in ancient healing practises which use the aromatic parts of plants, but is now one of the best researched of the complementary therapies. The course provides a detailed study of 42 essential oils and the techniques to apply them during a massage, and is especially appropriate to stress release.
Students will study:
- The history of Aromatherapy
- Carrier oils and blending
- The effects of essential oils on the body, mind and emotions
- Absorption routes
- Extraction methods and chemistry
- Home uses of essential oils
Practical sessions:
- Include a full body massage
- Experience of the 42 essential oils
Examination: Practical - Consultation and treatment (1 hour)
Case Studies:
- 6 clients (6 treatments each + 9 home treatments)
- Assignments - 15 additional treatments & research 15 essential oils
