Programme Description:
The L2 Art and Design course provides a broad range of related art experiences. Students will have the opportunity to acquire a grounding in the general principles and skills which underpin art, design and craft. The course has a practical focus and students will experiment and develop their skills in: Painting, Drawing, Print making, Graphics, Digital Photography, 2D and 3D Design, Textiles, and Time-based Media.

Successful completion of the course will enable students to progress to higher level courses such as the Level 3 Art & Design programme and provides skills which can lead to training in a wide variety of occupations.

Programme Features:
- Level 2 Art and Design is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades A to C
- Opportunity to participate in an exhibition of own work, which is open to the public
- The opportunity to experience a wide range of art, design and digital skills
- Regular visits to exhibitions, galleries and museums
- All students may exhibit their work in a local exhibition open to the public
- All staff are industry specialists in a variety of art and design subject areas
- Learners experience a variety of workshops within HE courses at Carmarthen School of Art's Jobs Well campus
Programme Content:
The First Diploma Art & Design course consists of 12 units which cover art, design and craft, for example, painting, printmaking and photography.
This course also includes either the Welsh Baccalaureate National (Post-16) or Essentail Skills plus a Welsh language unit and Employability Skills.
