Art Clay Silver (aka Precious Metal Clay) is an almost magical clay like material from which you can make solid silver jewellery in a short period of time. The course is suitable for beginners and those with some jewellery making experience. Our introductory course will cover the basic techniques of working with Art Clay Silver and you will make 3 pieces of fine silver jewellery to take home with you. Following the course you should be able to work independently with Art Clay Silver and produce basic yet very effective items of fine silver jewellery to wear with pride. Follow on courses are available to enhance your skills - ring making, dichroic glass, mixed media, adding images to your art clay silver jewellery, enamelling. Techniques covered : Familiarisation with different forms of Art Clay Silver Peparing the Art Clay Silver Working the clay into appropriate shapes Using Paste form to make a pendant necklace from a natural leaf Adding texture Adding relief Drying the clay Finishing the clay prior to firing Different firing methods Polishing and finishing your silver jewellery All materials and use of tools are included in the cost. Classes are taught by a certified art clay silver teacher. Our classes are small, friendly and informal with the emphasis on enjoying being creative and learning new skills.
